FALMOUTH, Trelawny — Salt Marsh United have established themselves as favourites to win the Trelawny Football Association Monymusk Overproof White Rum Major League after easily getting by Prospect Links in one semi-final at Elliston Wakeland Centre on Sunday.

Salt Mash United, last year’s Division One champions and the Major League mid-season champions, dominated Prospect Links all season and Sunday’s 2-0 win was their fourth straight victory over them. Salt Marsh won the semi-final 3-0 on aggregate and outscored them 6-1 on aggregate in four meetings.

In the finals set for May 25 and June 1, Salt Marsh United will meet Kinloss FC, who needed penalty kicks to get by Spicy Hill SC.

After drawing their first keg 1-1 the previous week, Spicy Hill and Kinloss FC were goal less after 120 minutes of regulation and extra time on Sunday.

The teams, however, combined to miss seven of the combined 10 penalties taken, as Kinloss FC prevailed 2-1.

Gervent Dixon and Chaddance Linton scored the first two penalties for Kinloss FC as the next three kickers failed, while Nathaniel Campbell, with the fourth kick, was the only success for Spicy Hill SC.

In the first game, Ramon Brown scored in the eighth minute and Nickoy Edwards sealed the deal in the 84th minute for Salt Marsh United as they stayed on course for the double.
