When did you start your career as a jockey?

I started my career as a jockey in 2012.

Which horse was your first winner?

My first winner came aboard the Wayne Parchment-trained Rising Raj over 1,700 metres. That was a nice win that I won’t forget.

Which horse was your longest odds winner?

My longest odds winner was on the same horse that I won my first race on, Rising Raj at 99-1. Going eight-and-a-half furlongs, everyone thought that my horse would come back in the race but I just kept him relaxed on the lead. Turning for home, I was well clear of the field and I just rode him as the trainer said and we eventually won the race. I did really enjoy that win a lot.

Which is the best horse that you have ridden?

Without a doubt, the Ian Parsard trained Pete’swildone. He has improved tremendously over a short period of time. This horse is a fighter, no matter how far he is behind the field he will find that strong powerful kick and come running you down. I just love riding this horse.

Which is the best horse that you have seen race at Caymanas Park?

Well, I have seen a lot of talented horses at Caymanas Park, but I would say that Distinctly Irish is the best horse that I have seen race at the Park. The Philip Feanny-trained Distinctly Irish was an outstanding race horse, winning his races impressively and he could race at any distance.

Who influenced your career the most?

Since I have been riding at the Park everyone has been good to me. I have received support from family, friends, trainers, owners, jockeys, grooms and fans, but I would like to single out my father, Anthony White. Although my mother (Loraine White) didn’t approve of my choice, he was always be there for me providing support, encouragement and giving good advice.
