MIAMI-based DJ Kyle DeSouza will be performing at the SPF Weekend marquee events BNM: Eye Candy later today, and closing event SOIREE: SPF-03 at Bay Beach on Sunday.

“EDM lovers can expect a high- energy set that will have them jumping all day and night long. SPF weekend 2014 is the place to be for Emancipation Weekend. I have already packed my shorts, tanks, and sunscreen,” he said

“I have prepared music mash-ups for SPF Weekend, which will see dancehall and EDM fusing. I like to be unique and different in my sets, as I never play the same set twice,” the Jamaica-born disc jockey said.

DeSouza believes that Jamaica is fast-becoming an EDM hub for the region, as the music genre continues to grow mainstream throughout the world.

“I think that Jamaicans catch on to new trends very quickly. It didn’t surprise me when I learned that EDM is as big as it is in Jamaica.”

“EDM is my favourite genre for many reasons. It’s a universal sound that is recognised all over the world. The genre has a sound that when heard, no matter your race, what language you speak, you’re going to get up and dance. I love that about EDM. People enjoy themselves, and it has the ability to touch people’s souls in ways other genres can’t,” he said.

DJ Kyle DeSouza has already become a go-to EDM performer in Florida, where he has performed at legendary venues including Club 50, The Rockbar, Cameo, The Villa, and prestigious events such as the annual Mercedes Benz Auction Show, the Annual George Lopez Christmas Party, and the Annual Seminole Hard-rock Wine and Food Festival.
