Best police station to be named
THE Jamaica Constabulary Force, ahead of it’s Police Week which is slated for November 2014, introduced a Best Station Competition that began yesterday.
The competition, which includes all geographic divisions and police stations, is aimed at improving police service delivery, compliance with policies, force rules and regulations, as well as building public trust and restoring the image of the force.
The stations will be assessed through unannounced visits and inspections, mystery shopping, telephone and customer service surveys, as well as observation. Some of the areas to be evaluated include records and utilities management, operational tasks and assignments, dress code and deportment, as well as the proper management and condition of service vehicles.
Come November, the winners will be announced and cash prizes, plaques and other incentives awarded.
The weekly Force Orders recently encouraged members to support the Best Station Competition as it is intended to have “immediate and positive impact on service delivery and public perception of the police as well as the overall well-being of members”.
