WATERHOUSE FC will face Tauro of Panama in a key return leg of their Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Championship 2014 campaign at the National Stadium today starting at 7:00 pm.

Waterhouse, who defeated the Panamanians 2-1 in the away leg, start with an advantage. But, according to coach Anthony Patrick, that is water under the bridge. “Tonight’s game is a different ball game altogether, as it is one that we must treat as a fresh start and prepare for nothing less than another win, this especially since the game is being played at home,” he said.

“This is a most important game for us to win. Victory in this game will no doubt help us to continue that winning momentum that should place the country in an advanced position to move into the next stage of the CFU, after failing narrowly in our away game to DC United in the USA a week ago”, an upbeat Patrick told the Jamaica Observer.

“We had a few issues of finishing effectively in the final third against DC, but we have since sought to resolve that situation as this match does not concern the Waterhouse Football Club only,” added Patrick.

“When we take to the field against Tauro of Panama, tomorrow night, it is the aspiring image of Jamaican football that is at stake, as some of Jamaica’s finest rising talent will be on display during the game.

“Victory, therefore, and a good performance will do the local football image a world of good,” Patrick emphasised.

Finding it difficult to name a final squad, Patrick identified a provisional squad of 21 players on Tuesday from which the final 18 will be selected.

The coach who went 23 games last season without defeat and, raking in some $2.5 million in bonuses and a trophy, said that while there are some individuals in the team with noticeable gifts, the others are expected to perform at a level that, will have a distinct and a positive influence on their play.

Waterhouse will again be depending on the talent of the efficient Vincent Earle, utility man Evan Taylor, the burly defender Upston Edwards, goalkeeper Richard McCallum, and Hughan Gray.

The talented Kenardo Forbes, who returned to the Waterhouse line-up after a long absence, will again form a formidable partnership with the irrepressible Romario Campbell and Kenroy Howell.

Damarley Samuels will lead the team, while a lot will again be thrown on the shoulders of Jermaine ‘Tuffy’ Anderson to hit the target.
