Let’s join hands…
ON Thursday, October 2nd, UWI Mona students gathered in their thousands for a Guinness World Record attempt for the ‘longest chain of people clasping hands’.
The record was held to raise awareness for the United Nations International Day for Non Violence, held on the same day as Mahatma Ghandi’s birthday; one of the best-known advocates for non-violence around the world.
PepsiCo Jamaica, a great supporter of Jamaica’s youth, provided refreshment for students in the form of Ocean Spray Flavour Splash; one of the many excellent drinks produced by the company.
Students flocked the Flavour Splash booth to quench their thirst on what was an extremely hot afternoon at the UWI Mona Bowl.
The UWI Township Project aims to strengthen the social fabric and economic base of neighbouring low-income communities, through initiatives to foster peace and non-violence.
