TSO Santa Cruz
SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth – It was steady rather than overwhelming shopping as St Elizabeth residents sought to take advantage of bargains in this south central town during the latest edition of the Observer’s Takes Style Out last Thursday evening.
Store operators had mixed reviews.
“More customers with less money,” said a laughing Torah White of the garment store Fashion ‘N’ Things. Store clerk Sophia Salmon felt business was “not bad”.
Natasha Newland of Fashion Authority thought shopping was “much better than last year” largely, she said, because “customers know it’s not three days, it’s one day”.
Andrea Wilson at Maxies was reasonably satisfied with the public response given that her store had changed location a year ago. “People are still getting used to the idea that we moved,” she said.
Sonny Samtani of Elegant Electronics believed “last year was better”.
