Stewart sweetens solid study by spectacular student Sowhana
Sowhana Pommells (centre), the Immaculate Conception High School student who spectacularly overcame the odds of living in the inner city of downtown Kingston on Matthews Lane to gain 10 grade ones in the 2012 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate exams, is presented with a generous cheque by Sandals Resorts International Chairman Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart to assist in paying her tuition as a medical student at the University of the West Indies. Sharing the occasion is Karen Zacca of the Sandals Foundation. Stewart had earlier offered the student and her family a vacation at his Beaches Ocho Rios resort in 2012 when he learnt of her brilliance from his Executive Assistant Arlene Lindo.
