Saunders suspended, Powell pays hefty fine
THE stewards of the Jamaica Racing Commission are announcing the following disciplinary actions following their last meeting on Tuesday October 7.
Jockey Rayan Wilson who rode Genuine Friend in the fourth race on Saturday, September 20 was fined $6,000.00 for interference caused to Starofthetown leaving the 700-metre point and The Real Draft approaching the 200-metre point.
Jockey Kuri Powell who rode Sir Frederick in the first race on Saturday, September 27 was fined $6,000.00 for intimidation and interference caused to Reign Over All in the vicinity of the 800-metre point; and Dagga Dagga Links in the ninth race on Sunday, September 28 was fined $10,000.00 for intimidation and interference caused to Da Jackal and Destiny’s Choice approaching the 800-metre point.
Jockey Romario Saunders who rode Sequoyah in the second race on Saturday October 4 was suspended for three racedays for interference caused to Miss Dorothy in the vicinity of the 300 metre point. The suspension will take effect on Saturday October 11.
Jockey Davidan Robinson who rode Tommy Fiddle in the sixth race on Saturday October 4, was fined $8,000.00 for interference caused to Andy Capp leaving the 800-metre point.
