J’can women place 2nd, 6th in NY Diamond League 100m

NEW YORK, United States — The Jamaican pair of Samantha Henry-Robinson and Schillonie Calvert were beaten into second and sixth respectively at the Adidas Grand Prix Diamond League meet here on Saturday.

Henry-Robinson finished behind American English Gardner (11.00) in a time of 11.08 seconds, while Trinidad and Tobago’s Kelly-Ann Baptiste finished third in a time of 11.19 seconds.

Calvert completed the event in a time of 11.60 seconds.

World lead: Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (10.81)

Meet record: Veronica Campbell-Brown (10.91)
