Mandeville, Manchester – All eyes will be on new sprint sensation Elaine Thompson at Jamaica ‘s athletic trials at the National Stadium, June 25-28.
Thompson, a native of Banana Ground in Manchester and a past student of Christiana High and Manchester High schools will be vying to make the Jamaica team for the World Championships in Beijing, China, in August, and after a series of fast times so far this year she has many backers.
Her personal best 10:84 seconds over 100 metres in Eugene, Oregon late last month has placed her among the fastest Jamaican women ever.
