54-y-o man arrested for illegal firearm in Portland

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man was arrested for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition in Train Line, Norwich, Portland on Friday.

He has been identified as 54-year-old Henry Gayle, unemployed of White River, Norwich in the parish.

Reports from the Port Antonio police are that about 11:55 pm, lawmen were on operation in the area when Gayle was accosted and searched and one Beretta Jericho handgun with a magazine containing one live round was seized.

He is scheduled to appear in the Port Antonio Resident Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, July 07.
