Dawn Moxam’s culinary story — she taught herself to cook, and learnt to read and write at age 34 — is as impressive as the food she prepares daily in a cosy roadside café where locals and tourists alike sit side by side in anticipation of satisfying plates.

The menu offerings are vast considering the establishment is helmed by Moxam and Velma Farquharson-Reid who cook, serve, and greet each customer with a smile as they miraculously keep up with the steady flow of hungry patrons.

Tourists staying at nearby villas are introduced to ackee and salt fish served separately initially alongside Johnny cakes. The more adventurous add guava jelly to the dumplings as they sit back and enjoy the cosy vibes inside.
