U-17 Reggae Girlz register 5-1 victory against Bermuda
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Jamaica’s Under-17 Reggae Girlz secured a comfortable 5-1 victory over Bermuda in their second Group A Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Championship fixture at Estadio Juan Ramon Loubriel on Sunday.
Florida-based Marlee Fray led the scoring with goals in the sixth and 14th minutes, while Tarania Clarke in the 44th, Jody Brown (59th) and substitute Rena Gordon in the 67th got the others.
Nia Christopher got the consolation for Bermuda.
The win provisionally propelled the Jamaicans to the top of the four-team table on four points.
The Girlz are vying for one of three spots to the CONCACAF round of qualifiers. The ultimate aim is to get to the FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup to be held in Jordan in 2016.
