JLP dares PM to call general election
ST JAMES, Jamaica – The calls have been loud and clear by the Opposition Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) for president of the People’s National Party (PNP) and Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller to announce the date for the next general election.
Speaking at a mass JLP rally in Granville, St James, East Central St James member of Parliament Edmund Bartlett dared the PNP president not to sit by and await her “master’s touch” to call the national polls, but to jump in the pool.
Meanwhile, speaking from the same platform, North West St James MP Dr Horace Chang, who is also the JLP’s general secretary, promised to take the seven seats between St James and Hanover.
