CLARENDON PARK, Clarendon — St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) remain on course to lift the rural area schoolboy football double after edging Lennon High 2-1 in their ISSA/Flow daCosta Cup semi-final at Juici Park on Saturday.
Left full-back Neville Morgan (20th) and the prolific centre-forward Michael Kerr (67th) got the goals for STETHS, while Shawayne Nelson scored Lennon’s consolation (50th).
STETHS, who will be hunting their fifth daCosta Cup title, will now meet Dinthill Technical in Saturday’s final at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.
This will also be their fourth successive appearance in the final, and the Santa Cruz-based school will be looking to add the daCosta Cup crown to the Ben Francis Knockout title which they won for a sixth season in-a-row following a 4-1 victory over Manchester High on November 19.
Dinthill advanced to the final, where they will be seeking only their second hold on the trophy, after clipping Manchester High 2-1 in their semi-final encounter on Friday.
The game also pits the two most prolific strikers in the rural area, Michael Kerr of STETHS and Rodave Murray of Dinthill, against each other.
At the moment, Kerr lead the race for the golden boot, having scored 16 goals since the inter-zone round — one ahead of Murray, who netted both goals for Dinthill against Manchester High.
