MBU return to RSPL top despite 0-0 stalemate
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Montego Bay United returned to the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) summit despite ending 0-0 against Harbour View FC in the Monday Night game at Harbour View Stadium.
Montego Bay have 34 points from 18 games, the same as Portmore United, but the former has the edge due a superior goal difference.
Harbour View are fifth with 25 points.
Reignings champions Arnett Gardens FC are third with 32 points after clipping Tivoli Gardens FC 3-2 at Edward Seaga Sports Complex on Sunday.
Arnett’s forward Kemal Malcolm completed a three-timer – finding the back of the net in minutes 26, 36 and 84 – to bring his tally to nine goals for the 2015-16 season.
Jermaine Johnson (fourth minute) and Junior Flemmings (51st) were the scorers for Tivoli, who are ninth in the 12-team standing with 19 points.
