Man accused of stealing 28 pairs of shoes
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man was hauled before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on allegations that he stole 28 pairs of shoes from his employer.
The accused, Dameko Holland, was arrested and charged with larceny as a servant.
However, last Thursday when he appeared in court he told Senior Magistrate Judith Pusey that the shoes were stolen by the brother of the man whom he had left in charge of the store.
According to Holland, he had left the man in charge and had returned to work for his previous employer when the shoes, valued at $93,100, were stolen.
Holland however indicated that he was willing to pay for the shoes and asked for three months but was told by the magistrate that he could not get so much time.
He was instead given until February 4 to return to court with the money, his bail was then extended.
