Cops nab wanted man after shoot-out in St Catherine
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A man who was wanted by the police for seven counts of shooting with intent was captured in St Catherine on Monday.
He is 30-year-old Jermaine Williams, otherwise called ‘Marlon, of Central Village, St Catherine.
In a news release yesterday, the Corporate Communications Unit said a gun was also seized when police officers attached to the Spanish Town Police Station nabbed him on St John’s Road, also in St Catherine.
Reports are that about 10:45 am, officers were on operation searching premises when they were allegedly fired at. CCU said the lawmen took evasive action and returned gunfire.
According to the police, when the shooting subsided, Williams was found at the back of the premises and was arrested.
The firearm — a Taurus 9mm pistol — with five rounds of ammunition was found in bushes.
The police say investigations are ongoing.
