UWI target semi-final spot in RSPL
KINGSTON, Jamaica — One of the fast movers and the most surprising of the clubs in the 2015/2016 Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) season is the University of the West Indies (UWI) FC, who has made a great impact as first timers in the competition.
Sitting dangerously in fifth place on 38 points, UWI will meet Rivoli United FC in a well-anticipated game at the Spanish Town Prison Oval on Sunday starting at 3:30p.m.
Roshane Smith, a key player in UWI’s line-up said that he is hoping for the best as his team has won twice in the last four matches.
“Our chances are very pretty good going into the final round of matches to be played and we should be in the top four when the preliminary round have been completed,” Smith said.
Smith added that both teams shared three points each, having faced defeat to either other in round one and two respectively, but with they should get the better of our opponents come Sunday.
“We have the ability and capabilities to get into the top four but will be hard work and consistency for the remaining of our matches.”
