Woman on the run for 4 years after fatally stabbing husband
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A woman who reportedly stabbed her husband to death in July 2011 and went on the run for four years was remanded when she appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.
The accused, 36-year-old Patricia Cornwall, is to answer to a charge of murder in relation to the death of Anthony Cornwall of Red Hills Road in Kingston.
According to a police report, on July 6, 2011, about 11:15 pm, the couple were at their home on Red Hills Road in Kingston when they had an argument, which led to a dispute.
It is alleged that the accused used a knife to stab the now deceased in the left side of his chest. The injured man was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Cornwall reportedly fled the scene and was arrested on December 21 of last year and subsequently charged.
She was remanded on Tuesday when she appeared in court, after the court was informed that the post mortem was outstanding.
She is scheduled to return to court on March 29.
