No Rush for Anna Mariah
Anna Mariah, who participated in last year’s Digicel Rising Stars competition, has released her first song, a cover of Paula Abdul’s Rush.
The song is produced by Othniel ‘Taddy P’ Campbell for Soundsx360.
“We wanted a song that would channel my organic style. I am a young, beautiful, island girl who has real appeal and we felt that Rush, with this contemporary spin, would do just that,” she stated.
Anna Mariah, who is in her final year at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, told
Splash thatRush was officially released this week.
The Herbert Morrison Technical High School past student got her start in music as a member of that school’s band. In 2010, they won Best High School Band.
Shortly after graduating from Herbert Morrison, Anna Mariah was accepted at ‘Edna’ where she is pursuing a degree in Jazz and Popular Studies.
She placed in the top five of Digicel Rising Stars’ Season 12.
