Best Product 2016 – Nominee: Lasco Ice Dream
The Lasco Ice Dream Chocolate and Vanilla frozen dessert mix alongside the promotional Ice Dream container.

Best Product 2016 – Nominee: Lasco Ice Dream

LASCO Ice Dream started when…

LASCO Chairman Lascelles Chin went to buy ice cream late one evening at the supermarket and realised just how expensive it was. He thought to himself: “Everyone loves ice cream but at these prices not everyone can afford it.” Chin’s business principle has always been to provide great quality at affordable prices, hence the birth of Ice Dream.

The product is described as…

Creamy, flavourful frozen dessert that’s versatile and easy to make.

The product — targeted at all ice cream lovers — is…

100 per cent Jamaican, and made at the company’s White Marl plant, St Catherine.

The reaction thus far to the product has been…

Amazing! People love the Ice Dream, especially the vanilla flavour (there’s also chocolate), because it has proven to be a great base for other desserts and people can create their own flavours.

Jamaicans should support this product because…

It’s home-made, affordable and delicious. You can also add to it and create your own dessert. Chopped fruit, chocolate chips or crushed cookies in the mix will delight your entire family.

If LASCO knew then what they know now…

We would have introduced it sooner and in a bigger package size.

Support this 100 per cent Jamaican product which is available at all supermarkets
