KINGSTON, Jamaica — Former Minister of Education Ronald Thwaites will be hosting a current affairs commentary programme, “The Jamaica Way”, on Caribbean-American cable station, CIN-TV, which covers the New York tri-state area, starting on Sunday, April 17.

A release today from CIN-TV, which is headed by Jamaican entrepreneur Stephen Hill, said that “The Jamaica Way” is “a brief, yet fascinating, three-minute current affairs commentary show which will be shown on CIN-TV Channel 73 and Verizon Channel 26 at 6:30 pm.

CIN-TV says that Thwaites will provide analyses and talks about issues facing Jamaicans, at home and in the Diaspora.

“Jamaica Way brings a fair and balanced perspective to evening talk, by eliminating the stereotypes associated with current affairs programmes and political talk shows,” the release said.

“This stimulating current affairs commentary is a part of CIN’s larger vision to create a solid international platform to discuss issues affecting Jamaicans with insightful comments. Ronnie Thwaites’ return to CIN will be eagerly awaited by the over one million Jamaican-Americans in New York,” the release added.

Thwaites was minister of education in the Portia Simpson Miller People’s National Party (PNP) Administration, which lost power in the February 25 general election to the current Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Government, led by Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
