Freddie McGregor releases True To My Roots single
TRUE To My Roots, the second single from Freddie McGregor’s album of the same name, has been released.
Produced by the singer’s Big Ship label, the song is distributed by VP Records affiliate VPAL.
What You Gonna Do, the lead single, topped charts in South Florida in January.
“We expect good things from this song. I said from the start we had a good album and we are proud of it,” said McGregor.
True To My Roots, the album, was also released in January. As its title suggests, it hears McGregor going for a stripped-down sound with producers Dalton Browne and Lloyd Campbell.
The latter, a veteran of the South Florida reggae scene, produced What You Gonna Do. McGregor originally did the song for his 2000 album, Signature.
