Inmate escapes custody
ST ANDREW, Jamaica – The police are confirming that a prisoner escaped from the Hunts Bay Police Lock-Up in St Andrew today.
He is 20-year-old David Ming of Caribbean Palm Estate, Spanish Town, St Catherine.
The police say Ming was charged with housebreaking, among other offences.
OBSERVER ONLINE has since learnt that this is not the first time Ming is escaping police custody. In fact, sources say it is the third time in less than a year. He previously escaped police custody in Portland then again while under police guard at the Kingston Public Hospital, OBSERVER ONLINE sources say.
However, the police’s Corporate Communications Unit insists that, to their knowledge, this is the first time Ming is escaping police custody.
In the meantime, the police are also advising the public that it is a criminal offence to harbour fugitives.
