FLANKER, St James — Junior Higgings scored twice for Club Stars FC in their big 5-1 win over Seaview FC in the third round of the St James Football Association’s Sandals/ATL Division One game at Flanker on Thursday to inch their way to mid-table safety.

Club Stars improved to 14 points, the same as Seaview FC, but with a better goal difference and into seventh place.

At Bickersteth, Fire House SC came back from two goals down in the first half to earn a 2-2 draw against Copperwood, while leaders Somerton FC were held goal-less at the UDC field by Irwin FC who are struggling at the other end of the table.

Somerton FC are on 27 points from their 11 games played, one more than Salt Spring United, with Revelation FC on 21, Bogue FC on 20, Fire House on 19, and Copperwood FC on 18 points.

Club Stars led 2-0, thanks to goals from Terrick Dixon in the 32nd and Mario Leslie in the 36th minute, before Higgings put the game out of reach with goals in the 63rd and 70th minutes, and Obrian Warren added a fifth in the 71st.

Rockwayne Campbell scored Seaview FC’s goal in the 81st.

At Bickersteth, Markel Hemmings and Ainsworth Gibson gave the home team a 2-0 lead after 25 minutes, but Fire House SC came back with goals from Rayon Bolt in the 29th minute and Dave Drummond with his seventh goal in the 30th minute to share the points.
