Residents afraid to cross flooded St Thomas roadway
ST THOMAS, Jamaica — Motorists waited patiently on Monday for water to drain away from a section of the roadway in Bowden, St Thomas.

Many of those who lined the roadway on Monday are teachers on their way to school, but who are afraid to cross the flooded roadway.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological (Met) Service of Jamaica this morning extended a flash flood watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of St Ann, St Mary, Portland, and St Thomas, until 5:00 pm today.
The Met Service, in a news release, said radar and satellite imagery indicate light to moderate showers affected mainly Portland and St Thomas through last night.
