Vanzant does emergency surgery after Jamaica trip
NOTED American spiritual teacher Iyanla Vanzant announced to her 2.7 million followers on Facebook on the weekend that she underwent emergency surgery on her return to the US from Jamaica.
Vanzant was the featured presenter at Elevated Talk in Montego Bay on June 25 and 26. On the first day, she ended her session prematurely, complaining of stomach pains. She seemed stronger on day two and performed without interruption.
But last Sunday, July 2, she wrote:
“Beloveds,
While I was in Jamaica I began to experience severe abdominal pains that stayed with me all the way back home. Once I arrived, I was admitted to the hospital for an acute emergency condition resulting in an unexpected surgery.
The surgery went well and I am fine. I am recovering well, according to my doctors, and I am doing what I would advise any of you to do — I am taking the time to allow my body to heal.
I truly bless and thank you in advance for your prayers and support. I feel your love and the feeling is mutual. When I get the lesson in this, I will share with you what it is.
Peace and Blessings,
Iyanla”
