YMZ catering to the young
The teen music market has consistently been the most lucrative in the United States for 20 years. Albums and songs by N Sync, Backstreet Boys, Hanson, Sean Kingston, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez sell millions.
Tomorrow Kingston will get a feel of that circuit with the YMZ show at the National Stadium. It features pop band R5, rapper Silento, Don Andre and Bling Dawg.
“Youth Music Zone (YMZ) is definitely the summer event for the entire family,” said Dave Lindsay of Mysterious Music Minds, organisers of YMZ. “We just want the kids, teens and their parents to grab their most comfortable pair of dancing shoes and get ready to Whip, Nae Nae, Aji Bounce, and Tom Cruise on Saturday.”
Whip & Nae Nae, Aji Bounce and Tom Cruise are popular dances inspired by songs of the same from Silento, Bling Dawg and Don Andre, respectively.
R5 includes three brothers: guitarist/vocalist Rocky Lynch, guitarist/vocalist Ross Lynch, and bassist/vocalist Riker Lynch, along with their sister, keyboardist/vocalist Rydel Lynch and drummer Ellington Ratliff.
YMZ was officially launched in June at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel.
