Six people arrested as cops seize firearm

ST JAMES, Jamaica – The Montego Hill Police are reporting the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition during a spot check operation on the Salt Spring main road in St James yesterday.

Reports are that about 9:00 pm the police stopped and searched a black Toyota Mark X motor car with six people aboard and allegedly seized a Sturn Ruger 9mm pistol with a magazine containing fifteen 9mm rounds.

Subsequently, all six people were arrested.

Police say their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
