Pritti Shu hits out against Bad Mind
In his latest single, up-and-coming singjay Pritti Shu expresses his disgust for backbiters and hypocrites in the track Bad Mind. According to him, the single has been making the rounds on social media and local airwaves since its release in May.
“Unfortunately, even a child can relate an experience with someone who is envious, so the topic is a universal one. The song speaks about those wolves in sheep’s clothing, who wish you well in your presence, but secretly wishing for your downfall behind your back,” he told Splash.
Produced by United States-based No Effort and Black Liberty Records, Pritti Shu said he hopes the single will do musical wonders for his career.
“I really do not have a limit for it, but I want it to be one of those singles that will be timeless. The whole idea is not to release a lot of singles at once which will in turn drown each other. Instead, I will continue to promote and market this one until it reaches its full potiential,” he said.
Pritti Shu, 33 — given name is David Robinson. He was born in St Elizabeth— but relocated to Kingston as a teenager. While living in Kingston, he said his passion for music heightened as he was more exposed to more entertainment in the city.
“Kingston is like music central, everything is here that will draw one closer to their music career,” he said.
Recording a single would take a few years though, as it was in 2012 he released his debut song called High Roller. Other songs followed including Protect Me Oh Jah, Wutliss Cutliss, and Crawb Up Road.
