UPDATE: Second man found guilty in murder of lecturer, husband
ST ANN, Jamaica — Jowayne Alexander, the second man charged in the 2011 murder of Discovery Bay couple Stephen Hall and Normalyn Campbell-Hall was found guilty in the St Ann Circuit Court today.
After approximately 25 minutes of deliberation the jury returned a guilty verdict Thursday afternoon.
Jowayne Alexander was charged along with Steve Stewart in the 2011 murders.
The bodies of businessman Stephen Hall and Normalyn Campbell -all, a lecturer at the Brown’s Town Community College, were found in Lakeside, Discovery Bay, about three miles from their Queen Cresent home.
The police theorised that the two were killed at their home and their bodies taken to the remote location. Robbery was established as a motive for the killings. A car belonging to Campbell-Hall was also found in that parish.
Stewart pleaded guilty to two counts of murder on February 22 and was sentenced to life with eligibility for parole after 17 years. He was the main prosecution witness in the trial of Alexander, which lasted for three days.
Alexander will be sentenced in the Home Circuit Court on March 16.
