Cuba signs air services agreement with Finland

Cuba signs air services agreement with Finland

HAVANA, Cuba (CMC) — President of the Cuban Institute of Civil Aeronautics, Alfredo Cordero and Kimmo Lähdevirta, Director General for the Americas and Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, have signed an air service agreement between the two countries.

On Wednesday, both officials signed the document that allows airlines to have operations between the two countries.

This measure aims at increasing the number of Finnish visitors to Cuba, as well as from other parts of Northern Europe.

The Finnish diplomat said his country has good air connections with Europe and Asia, therefore there is potential to boost tourism in Cuba.

The agreement includes commercial and charter flights that are scheduled to come on stream in November.
