PNPYO hails Phillips as new hope for young people

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The People’s National Party’s Youth Organization (PNPYO) has expressed hope in the newly-installed leader of the Opposition and new party president Dr Peter Phillips.

The PNPYO in a statement today said it “celebrates the passing of the baton from a phenomenal woman of superior political intellect and mass appeal…Comrade Portia Simpson Miller to a brilliant man and an exceptional organizer and leader, Dr Peter Phillips. In him presents a new hope for young people and the greatest hope to rescue Jamaica.”

The youth organisation said that in his rhetoric Dr Phillips has pledged to put youth issues at the forefront of the party’s agenda and by extension Jamaica.

“There is new excitement and fresh hope resonating within the party and is painted on the faces of young Comrades. The PNPYO appreciates the new signal of bringing closer to the fold the brilliant young minds of Damion Crawford, Raymond Pryce, Lisa Hanna, Dayton Campbell, Dwayne Vaz and our own Connoly Black, who are all raring and ready to ascend to the forefront of the party to defend and advocate for the people of Jamaica,” the PNPYO statement said.

“The PNPYO pledges its unequivocal support to Dr Phillips who we consider an exceptional leader with unrivalled critical and analytical skills which are revered worldwide,” the group added.
