ON the heels of his debut album in February, Embrace Me, reggae soul singer Ricardo Suave has released his latest single titled Come And Go With Me .

The single is a cover of American singer Teddy Pendergrass’s 1979 bedroom ballad Come Go With Me.

Ricardo Suave’s version was released on August 25 and produced on his Suave Productions imprint. He received musical support from established keyboardist Keith “Bo Pee” Johnson. Distributed by California-based Di Next Generation Distribution company, Come And Go With Me is available on all musical download platforms.

The singer shared his reason for adding his reggae-flavoured interpretation to Come And Go With Me.

“I have always been a big fan of Teddy P and felt reggae has the ability to transform great songs into phenomenal masterpiece. I sincerely believe that I have accomplished this with my version. I was only two years old when the original version came out and I think the fans will be gravitating to my take on it and a whole new generation of reggae lovers will come to appreciate the beauty within the song,” Ricardo Suave told Jamaica Observer.

Pendergrass was a prolific singer, who had a successful career. He was left crippled after a 1982 accident but kept on performing. He died of respiratory failure in 2010, at age 59.

Ricardo Suave (real name Sheldon Williams) is a past student of Clarendon College. He got his musical break in 1996 when he placed second in the Red Label Wine Superstar Competition.

His other releases include I Who Have Nothing, Human Nature, Once Upon A Time, You Will Never Find, Run Away With Me and Bring It Come.
