Former Magnum King of the Dancehall finalist Shac is making moves with his new single Board House. The song, produced by One Hundred Degrees Records, was inspired by real-life events.

“Life was what inspired me to write this song. Just like all my other songs, my life and others are the key source of my inspiration,” he told the Jamaica Observer.

The beat for the track was created by C-Fanatic from Guyana, while the song was mixed and mastered by Rural.

“The feedback on the song has been great. Most people said listening to the song is like looking into a mirror,” said Shac.

A video for Board House was recently shot on location in Barbados and directed by Scenes Entourage. The song was released last month and is available on iTunes.

In 2013, Shac became a top five finalist in the Magnum King of the Dancehall competition. His other known recordings include Push Back.

Shac, whose real name is Amos Harris, is from Decoy, Toll Gate in Clarendon. He describes himself as a well-rounded artiste.

“I’m a well-rounded individual with an artistic mind and warm personality. Music is what I’ve always wanted to do. When I was in school I would pretend to host stage shows in class along with my classmates,” he said.

After leaving the Porus High School, he moved to Barbados for a short time where he did the music video for a song called Girl Yuh Hard, which was produced by Outdeh Records.

It was after his return to the island that he decided to enter the Magnum-sponsored televised talent show.

“Magnum was a great experience for me. I enjoyed every minute of it,” he said.
