Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls departed the island for Australia on Sunday to compete in this year’s staging of the International Netball Federation’s (INF’s) Fast5.

New coach Sahser Gaye Henry says that the Sunshine Girls are ready for the tournament and are expected to do well. She will lean on her experience as a player to bring out best in the players. According to Henry, everyone wants to come back home with a medal, which they have not been able to do in recent times.

This is Henry’s first tour as head coach of the Sunshine Girls. She will have Marvette Anderson as assistant, Faith Hall as manager, primary care in Wendy Peart and Cora Ricketts as head of delegation.

Dr Paula Daley Morris, president of Netball Jamaica, is also expecting that the team will do well at the upcoming Fast5.

The team is captained by professional netball player Jhaniele Fowler-Reid. The other members of team are Shanice Beckford, Paula Thompson, Adean Thomas, Khadejah Williams, Vangelee Williams, Stacian Facey, Malysha Kelly, new comers Shimona Nelson and Rebekah Robinson,

The 2017 Netball World Series will be held in Melbourne, Australia, on October 28 and 29.
