Jahfee is Always Clean
After losing his family’s house in Westmoreland to fire, dancehall artiste Jahfee relocated to Brandon Hill in St Andrew. He sought comfort in his music.
He got some insight into the music industry and encouragement when he was introduced to the team at Daseca Productions.
“Linking with Daseca help me to get a better understanding towards the approach that I’m going to take as far as music is concerned. I learnt a lot from them,” said Jahfee.
He recorded his first single Firm In The Gideon on selector Foota Hype’s Touch Di Road rhythm seven years ago. Since then he has continued to improve on his craft while performing at several stage shows and events in the Corporate Area.
Now signed to the New York-based PBR Production label, Jahfee is optimistic that his career is moving in the right direction.
He is currently promoting the song Always Clean, which was produced by Fabian Johnson. It was released on May 1.
“Basically just my lifestyle. I just tell myself that I have to be properly attired regardless of the situation,” he explained.
The deejay, whose given name is Jahfi Tate, grew up listening to the sounds of Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. Buju Banton was another early musical influence.
“The journey for me hasn’t been an easy one. However, if you love music, nothing will stop you from realising your dreams,” he said.
Leave It Onto Jah and Baby Girl are among his other releases.
