Renewal of voter ID cards to begin November 4
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) has announced a November 4 start date for the renewal of voter ID cards.
ECJ, in a newspaper advertisement today, said cards issued between 2016 and 2019 will be renewed and the registered voter contacted to collect it.
Meanwhile, voters with ID cards issued in 2015 or earlier will be required to visit an ECJ constituency office or ID renewal centre where their photograph will be taken.
The commission said the individual will be contacted when the card is ready.
ECJ had announced a two-year extension on the validity of voter ID cards set to expire on December 31, 2017, allowing individuals to continue using the cards until December 31, 2019.
