Police arrest 2 men, seize 2 guns in Clarendon operation
CLARENDON, Jamaica — Detectives assigned to the Clarendon Division seized two firearms and arrested two men following a joint police-military operation in Woodside district, May Pen, Clarendon on Wednesday.
Reports are that about 4:00 am, the lawmen were conducting operations in the area, when they saw two men walking in their direction, one of whom was observed with a pistol in his hand.
“Upon seeing the police, both men ran and a chase ensued. Both men were apprehended and searched and one 9mm Bersa Thunder pistol and a magazine containing one 9mm cartridge and a Smith and Wesson pistol containing eight 9mm cartridges was seized,” the constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit reported.
Both men were taken into custody by the police, however, their identities are being withheld pending further investigation.
