‘Sun halo’ spotted over Jamaica evokes curiosity

A bright ring around the sun, spotted in the skies over Jamaica, attracted curious onlookers on Saturday.

According to The Weather Channel, sun halos usually occur when cirrus clouds are covering the sky.

A trough in the vicinity of the island is expected to cause unstable weather conditions this weekend.

One eagle-eyed Kingston resident, Mark Chambers captured the sun halo in a photograph and shared it with OBSERVER ONLINE.
