‘Mr Protector’ to tour Portmore schools today
TO culminate Child Month 2022, the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) will be visiting several schools in Portmore today.
Dubbed ‘Mr Protector goes to school’, the school tours will features the CPFSA mascot, joining with a team of CPFSA children’s officers visiting schools and delivering short presentations on child abuse, child safety, and promotion of the 211 Child Abuse Reporting hotline. These sessions are geared to help children identify different types of abuse and empower them to self-report using 211, the 24-hour reporting hotline, and other available mediums.
The CPFSA says that based on feedback from schools and children, the tours have been beneficial, as the child protection messages being conveyed by its teams have been well-received, as more children are cognisant of child abuse and how to make reports.
The CPFSA’s town crier will today accompany the team, promoting the hotline in communities in Portmore.
