The well-decorated and talented Mahogany hunts four wins on the trot in what should be a walk in the park for the Ian Parsard trainee in the $1.5-million None Such Trophy, a three-year-old and upwards Open Allowance/Graded Stakes contest going six furlongs (1,200m) at Caymanas Park today.

Bred by Sensational Slam out of the Traditional mare Mete-Orite, Mahogany’s last win came on August 1 when he won by 5 ¼ lengths in the 18th running of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Trophy (Grade II) over 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m).

Mahogany toyed with rivals before accelerating in deep stretch in a commanding performance to seal his status as the top-rated horse in the land at present. This race should be another walk in the park for Mahogany. It has to be noted that Mahogany will be allowing lumps of weight to his nine rivals.

None Such, which honours one of the best thoroughbreds to race at Caymanas Park, is positioned as the ninth event on the 10-race card with a post time of 4:50 pm. First race is at high noon.

The race is truly for second place and a number of runners can fill that spot. The exacta horse should come from the group of King Arthur, Duke, God of Love, Curlin’s Affair, and Race Car.

King Arthur (Natural Selection – Geisha’s Art) surprisingly ran no race in the recent She’s A Maneater Trophy at a mile, where he finished in last position in the eight-horse field behind Jordon Reign’s and Eroy. King Arthur, however, was a winner over this distance in the Eros Trophy. The Jason DaCosta trainee is an in-and-out campaigner, so it depends on which King Arthur turns up tomorrow.

Trained by Gary Griffiths, Duke is a very consistent runner who has the ability to settle behind the many speedsters in this trophy event and there are many present before coming on in the straight. A minor place is the best Duke can hope for here.

The Fitzgearld Richards-conditioned God of Love (Adore The Gold – Shanda D) is another consistent runner who gives his best each time he hits the track. God of Love finished second behind Mahogany in the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries race two starts back. He is expected to put in another good shift and could be in contention for exacta.

Curlin’s Affair, from the barn of Anthony Nunes, continues to be prominent in his races with a second-place finish behind Jordon Reign’s standing out. Curlin’s Affair also finished third behind Mahogany but a place on the board is possible.

Race Car (Race Day – Mcduffie) – was a winner on last over this distance but that was in the class below. The Spencer Chung-trained Race Car steps up, and repeating will be a very difficult task. But he should do well in his hunt for second money.

The rest of the field is made up of Make-Up Artist, I Am Fred, and Lure of Lucy, trained by DaCosta, and Go Deh Girl, trained by Nunes.
