25-y-o man shot dead at bar in Westmoreland

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica— The bloodletting continues in Westmoreland with the latest victim being a man who was shot and killed at a bar in New Hope, Little London, on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Shamar Hamilton, otherwise called “Sasa”, from Gully Lane, Water Works District in the parish.

The police’s Corporate Communications Unit confirmed the incident with OBSERVER ONLINE on Saturday morning.

Police reports are that Hamilton was among a group of patrons at Travellers Paradise Bar when two men on a motorcycle stopped at the bar.

A tussle then ensued between Hamilton and the two men, during which patrons were seen running out of the bar.

Several loud explosions were then heard and Hamilton was found in front of the bar lying on his back in a pool of blood.

He appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds and lacerations to his head and upper body.

Hamilton was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
