Time to nab unruly cab drivers
Dear Editors,
Jamaica continue to slide down a precipice while our Government is asleep. This is happening in so many areas of life, but let us look at the behaviour of unruly taxi drivers which the Government has failed to address.
The routes that taxi drivers operate on in the Corporate Area are well known. On such routes, like Red Hills Road, they create a third and fourth lane out of the two official lanes with all types of dangerous and intimidating driving.
A simple solution to control such type of dangerous driving by route taxi drivers is to install closed-circuit cameras on both sides of the road that capture the licence plates of these unruly drivers and follow-up to prosecute them for infractions and violations.
Why is it that our Government continues to sleep while the country slides down the precipice in so many ways?
Please, for goodness sake, accept this simple proposal and use such to control our unruly route taxi drivers.
