What constitutes a scandal?
Dear Editor,
Human beings are not infallible. In the course of life one may err against the laws of the land and commit a crime or transgress against the laws of God. There is also the possibility of erring by failing to do that which ought to have been done.
What puzzles me is: When does any of the above become a scandal? The term is often loosely used, especially politically, to describe various incidents or occurrences which do not appear politically correct.
The latest is the dead babies scandal, which has been so termed because Minister of Health Dr Christopher Tufton is being accused of failing to make a timely report.
I am wondering: Why is this a scandal?
