87 YEARLINGS entered in 2022 TOBA Mixed Sale
The 2022 Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA) Mixed Sale has attracted 87 yearlings and 15 two year olds. The sale takes place on Sunday, November 13, in the official car park at Caymanas Park.
Interest in this year’s sale, especially the yearling segment, is gaining momentum given the three-year-old results of two graduates of the Yearling Sale, Atomica and Blue Vinyl. Atomica, winner of this year’s 1000 Guineas and the blue riband Jamaica Derby, was purchased at the sale for the bargain basement price of $700,000. Blue Vinyl, winner of the 2000 Guineas and the Jamaica St Leger, was purchased in the sale for $900,000.
Included in the lot of 87 in the 2022 sale are some interesting entries. Based solely on their breeding, the ones that are of interest are:
Lot number 3 — a bay filly by Bern Identity out of Keep The Faith — a half-sister to the impressive two-year Bootylicious.
Lot number 6 — a bay filly by Savoy Stomp out of Trinket — a half-sister to Calculus and full sister to Sonny T And Chippy.
Lot number 37 — a chestnut filly by Bern Identity out of Moonlight Brew — a full sister to Perfect Brew.
Lot number 41 is bay filly by Seeking My Dream out of Track Rose. This is the first progeny of Seeking My Dream, a past Derby and Diamond Mile winner to enter the Yearling Sale.
