Construction worker charged with shooting of Hanover woman

HANOVER, Jamaica— A man was arrested and charged with the shooting injury of a woman in Canaan District, Hanover, on Saturday, September 26.

Charged with wounding with intent and illegal possession of firearm is 28-year-old Trevino Evans otherwise called ‘Jermaine’, of Canaan District.

Reports from the police are that about 3:00 pm, the woman was walking along the roadway, when she was attacked and shot multiple times by Evans. It is reported that they had a long-standing dispute.

The police were summoned and the woman taken to hospital where she was admitted and treated.

Evans was subsequently arrested during a police operation in Montpelier, St James, on Saturday, November 5, and later charged.
