Faulkland FC relegated from JPL
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Faulkland FC’s first stint in the Jamaica Premier League will last just one year after their relegation was confirmed on Sunday when they were beaten 2-0 by Arnett Gardens in the game played at Wespow Park in St James.
Faulkland FC, the winner of the inaugural JFF Tier II competition, join Chapleton Maroons whose demotion was confirmed a week earlier.
First half goals from Fabian Reid and Jaheem Thomas saw off Faulkland FC as Arnett Gardens returned to the top of the tables with 49 points, three more than Cavalier FC who were edged 1-0 by Waterhouse FC.
Cavalier FC’s loss saw them lose for the first time in four games but stay ahead of defending champions Harbour View who edged Montego Bay United 1-0, thanks to a 15th minute goal from Colorado Murray.
The win saw Waterhouse open up a gap over Portmore United for the sixth and final spot in the play-off, as they improved to 40 points, four more than Portmore who were held 1-1 by Humble Lion.
Afiba Chambers gave Humble Lion the lead in first half stoppage time before Chevaughn Walsh levelled the scores for Portmore in the 60th minute.
Jaason Wright scored a hat-trick to lead Molynes United to a 4-3 win over Tivoli Gardens who had a double from Rodico Wellington.
Wright gave Molynes the lead after 18 minutes from the penalty spot but Tivoli rallied to take the lead 2-1 with two penalties from Wellington in the 28th and the 34th minutes.
Nicholas Nelson pulled Molynes level in the 38th minute as the teams were level at 2-2 at half time.
Wright got his second goal in the 50th minute to give the lead back to Molynes but once again Tivoli rallied to tie the scores when Alton Lewis scored in the 67th minute.
Wright completed his hat-trick in the 77th minute and gave Molynes the win.
